Hi. Wow. It's so odd being back here. I kind of just want to be back in Belize, except with Michael, and American food. No bell peppers, especially of the green variety. And I'm not just talking nice about Belize because the drinking age is 18 over there.
Uhm... after work on Wednesday, Michael picked me up, & we got some McDonald's for me & Belle, then he had to go bc he was going to SoCal & Las Vegas for the extended weekend. Me & Belle went to Vallejo after that.
On Thursday, we landed in Belize around three o'clock, local time. Ate, & booked a couple of tours. Friday, we took a car/bus ride up to where the boat was... the car ran out of gas on the way there, on the stranded lonely road... Belle wondered if they didn't have the gas gauge thing that showed how much gas is left... Paul suggested they didn't have it in Belize... I checked and they do have it. When we finally got moving, we took a funn boat ride, saw some birds & other animals on the way to Lamanai, where there's jungle and Mayan ruins & temples. We climbed a couple of temples, posed for some pictures, dodged monkey droppings and mosquitoes alike. Took a boat ride back, decided that we wanted a boat for back home. Oh yeah, there were cannibals on our tour too, bitchy ones. A married couple, and when the bus/car broke down, the woman told the man that she was sorry, but she may be forced to eat him. She told him that again when it seemed as if we were short boxed lunches. Then they went to go look at the plants that closed up when you touch them.
On Saturday, our tour guide was late. We went on a boat to look for manetees, but saw none. Then we saw a dolphin, and its dorsal fin looked bitten. He kept popping up around the boat, especially when we were about to leave. Then we went to this tiny tiny island with palm trees and a little dilapidated hut and dilapidated dock. It was right by the barrier reef. Went snorkeling a little bit, but my mask just wasn't really working out, so after lunch, me & Belle & Paul just decided to hang out in the water, float around, and talk to Stanley, this little fish that liked being by our feet. The boat ride back was enjoyable.
Paul got second degree burns from being out in the water. He's got blisters, but he said they're much better now. SO because of that, and due to the fact that all of the tours were like $100 each (in American Dollars), we hung low for the rest of the trip, staying in, watching movies and listening to the ocean, and on the last night, listening to the thunder and alternately looking at the lightning and Summerland. Oh yes, and we'd play cards too. Paul picked up Punk Ass Bitch quite quickly. He says that my small hands are more aerodynamic.
I've got this great tan. I've officially had my first (and second) full alcoholic drink. They don't even card in Belize. Not all strawberry daquiries are created equal (equally? Our founding fathers so didn't have grammar lessons) I also had a great meal that was made on those heated rocks. Nice.
Uhm, I don't remember what else really. But those were highlights. That, and the rolls in Belize. And lots of inside jokes between Paul Alex Rockwell and my sister and myself. Of course, the old standard is my reaction after having my first full alcoholic drink. Never listen to Rockwell when he insists that you chug. Even if it is just a teensy bit of cosmo left.
My reunion with Michael was fabulous. For our 31 month anniversary tomorrow, he got us tickets to go see Lion King in a couple of weeks. I'm quite pleased and excited about that. It's nice just being all held.
Is the Ashlee Simpson album out yet?
Tomorrow is work and Spiderman and Nascar 360. =D And it's Friday, so work won't really be work. Or it will be, just with food. =)
